SEFCU Renames UAlbany Rec

ALBANY, NY -- In early November, SEFCU, a large credit union, and the University at Albany in Albany, NY, announced a $2.75 million commitment to name the university's Recreation and Convocation Center as the SEFCU Arena. The name will apply for a 10-year period and will include promotional opportunities for the credit union. The facility is the home for UAlbany's men's and women's basketball teams and has seating for capacity crowds of 4,538.

UAlbany opened the Recreation and Convocation Center in the spring of 1992 as an $11 million facility. The playing surface on the arena's three basketball courts and the surrounding 0.11-mile indoor track were completely renovated in December 2004.
