Harbor YMCA Concludes Biggest Loser Competition

GRAYS HARBOR, WA—YMCA members trimmed their waistlines and improved their health after six months of healthy eating and exercise during the Biggest Loser competition. Like many fitness facilities around the country, the Y weighed and measured the contestants before and after the competition. Those who worked out on their own received free memberships to the YMCA and met every Sunday morning at the Coastal Fitness Center for their weekly weigh-in. A recent high school graduate teamed with a Pilates instructor at the Y to launch the program. They plan to organize a Biggest Loser II competition in mid-September. A 43-year-old woman, who lost 101 pounds, was crowned the winner of the competition.
