Air Force Marathons Draws More Than 4,700 Runners

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, OH – The Wright-Patterson Air Force base was busier than normal last week as officials sponsored the 10th anniversary U.S. Air Force (USAF) Marathon. More than 4,700 runners from all over the world registered for the race and more than 1,500 local volunteers helped out during the week, said Molly Louden, USAF Marathon director. The event also featured a Sports & Fitness Expo, gourmet pasta dinner, celebrity runners Bill Rodgers and Alberto Salazar, a Marathon and Half Marathon Pace Team, A-10 flyover and aircraft static displays.
